Winter Photo Contest Results!

Okay, we've gone over all the submissions for our first Winter Photo Contest and debated at length over our favorites. And, we've finally come to a consensus, which will introduce our second, second-time contest winner: ZZ3D.

First Prize: Snow Fight

ZZ3D's a long-time contributor to 3DVisionLive and has shared some amazing work with us. Snow Fight is certainly no exception! We felt this image captured the essence of the contest's Winter theme very well, and it also shows clearly how 3D can really add to a static image by introducing depth. Seeing the snow fly at you from the screen is simply much more compelling than viewing the same flat image in 2D. Congratulations to ZZ3D for winning top honors, again, and his other submissions for the contest are well worth a gander, too, by the way.

First Runner Up: Frosty's Grotto

Media3D's been submitting some compelling 2D to 3D conversions for some time now, including some popular collaborative images with other users of the site. We liked Frosty's Grotto for the reasons supplied in the description - magically transporting us back to our youth to revisit the spirit of the holiday season - and for the overall quality of the image itself. Please keep 'em coming!

Second Runner Up: Villa Ulfvik 3D

Meanwhile, Alex Savin's image just makes us feel cold (in a good way) - and we can almost hear the crunch of snow under our boots as we look at it. The composition is excellent, too, inviting us to step into this winter wonderland.

Well done all! And thanks to everyone that submitted entries for this contest - and please stay tuned for our next photo competition, which we'll unveil very soon.
